William & Kate: “Celebrating” Slightly Delayed

From The Daily Kate:
For those interested in the upcoming Robin Nunn book, William & Kate: Celebrating a Royal Romance, I have some news on when we can expect to see the book on shelves.
The book’s publishers pass on that the book isn’t caught up in any legal questions — Robin Nunn is someone who has worked with the palace for years and remains on good terms. So, Nunn’s new photos will be published, but only after William and Kate officially announce their engagement.
A rep from the publishing house tells me that “the book has always been intended as a celebratory commemoration of Kate and William’s relationship and as such was planned to co-incide with the announcement of their engagement.” They’ve decided that the book will therefore be more appropriate for publication after the big announcement has been made, which explains the delay from the original stated publishing dates on bookseller websites.
So, William and Kate watchers, you’ve got two media events to look forward to when we finally see the couple showing off the engagement ring on the palace lawn: the BBC’s Their Story documentary and Robin Nunn’s Celebrating a Royal Romance book. If you want to have your copy reserved for the future release, Amazon has it available for pre-order here.

This is interesting news Ella
Does that mean that originally there was supposed to be an announcement in May/June and it was delayed? Or am I reading too much into it. If that is the case that would indicate that originally there was supposed to be some sort of announcement this year?

I don’t know that this indicates that an announcement was planned and then scrapped — I think, from what the rep explained to me, that it may just be that the publishing company is also trying to time the release to the anticipated announcement, and they’re not exactly sure when it’s going to be either. If they release the book right after the announcement, they don’t have to worry about guessing incorrectly and having the book languish on the shelves until an announcement is made.
For me, the most significant part of the book scheduling is that it’s one more sign that an engagement will happen — and it’s a matter of when now and not if.
